Bay windows are one of those features that can make or break a room. They let in a ton of light, which is great - but without the right window treatment, you end up with glare, heat, and a space that just feels unfinished. Getting the fit right on a bay window is also trickier than a standard flat wall. Each panel has to be sized and aligned independently, and the angles have to work together.
That's exactly what we were working with here. A dining room bay window with multiple panes, warm wood trim, and a lot of natural light coming through. The goal was to keep the light - not block it - while cutting the harsh glare and adding some texture to the space.
We went with natural woven shades for this one. The light-filtering weave lets sunlight diffuse through softly instead of hitting hard. You get a warm, golden glow in the room rather than a bright wash of direct sun. And the natural material - the woven texture, the earthy tones - adds something a plain roller shade or curtain panel just can't.
What we love about this look is how it ties the room together without trying too hard. The shades complement the wood dining table, the warm trim, and the neutral walls. Nothing feels forced. It's one of those upgrades where people walk in and feel the difference before they even notice the shades themselves. That's the goal.
Natural woven shades are one of the most versatile options we work with. They work in almost any room, hold up well in high-light spaces, and come in enough variations that finding the right fit for your home isn't difficult. If you've got a bay window - or any window - that's been feeling off, this is worth a closer look.
